Helping children understand money
As Christmas approaches, money (or a lack of it) often pops into people's thoughts.
This week's information guide is all about money and helping children manage their relationship with it. Children in school now have a very disconnected view of money because most transactions are now done using cards. Children never see 'real' money changing hands and don't understand that it is a finite resource.
As Christmas gets closer, consider taking your young people shopping using cash to help them to see that money is a limited resource and great care should be taken before using it all up!
This guide also covers the difference between a 'want' and a 'need' - again, something that we often see being confused in the minds of young people.
