Many children have returned to school today telling school staff about their fabulous new mobile phone or tablet computer. These are both great tools for learning and fun, but they can be a route into the darker and weirder corners of online life.

We find that many children of a startling young age are able to very quickly find ways around the online safety checks that social media platforms put in place.
