An exciting opportunity has arisen at Discovery Primary Academy to lead our thriving SEND and Inclusion Team from Easter 2025. The successful candidate will ensure we deliver the highest quality of education, range of opportunities, standards of achievement and attainment for our SEND children.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:

  • Have a range of experience working with children with complex needs.
  • Be a strong leader who is committed to providing the highest standards of provision for our SEND children through classroom based teaching, as well as supporting colleagues, parents and children.
  • Be experienced in rigorous tracking and monitoring of children’s progress, identifying needs and implementing effective strategies. 
  • Be experienced in working within the SEND Code of Practice as a SENCo or teacher.
  • Be an excellent communicator, with a strong commitment to working in partnership with parents, Governors, and the community.
  • Have or be willing to complete the program to gain the National Award for SENCo (NASENCO)
  • Work alongside the Designated Safeguarding Lead as a Deputy particularly in relation to Children with SEND.
